The Painters Behind the Names
The eight suites are each dedicated to a famous painter who lived at the beginning of the 20th century – the very era in which Haus Hubertus was built.
The idea for the names grew out of the way nature on the Hubertus grounds flows into the house and its rooms – and interesting parallels with the lives and work of the artists emerged, much to the guests’ surprise.
When the suites were renovated, the painters’ works were not simply hung in frames – in some cases, entire walls were decorated with matching photo wallpaper featuring the artists’ motifs. If you like, you will always find books about the respective painter in the apartments to read during your vacation.
Magma Glasdesign
The objects in the bathrooms on the upper floor and in the attic were crafted by a friend of ours, the fused-glass artist Rudi Schwer of Magma Glasdesign in Rimsting on Lake Chiemsee, Bavaria. Shapes, colors and light delight on artistic washbasins and, in some cases, shower walls.

Literary Salon
Actor Moritz Stoepel, known from TV and radio drama productions, appears at irregular intervals in the salon of the Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec suite with a very special literary and musical program: works by various poets as well as classical and modern compositions, performed in the style of a literary salon (as in 19th-century Vienna and Paris).
