The Baltic Sea in Every Season
Of course, summer on the Baltic Sea is wonderful, but every other season has its charm too – and nature sets the rhythm of life.
In winter, with ice and snow, everything feels wrapped in cotton wool, and you sense a special calm.
In autumn and spring the storms really get the Baltic Sea going. When the wind is onshore and the water level is rising, you can sometimes experience a particularly exciting natural spectacle.
New Year's Eve in Boltenhagen
Many guests come between Christmas and New Year – for the peace and quiet on the beach and the fireworks over the Baltic Sea. In the suites, underfloor heating in the bathroom keeps things cozy, even when the wind is blowing outside. If you’re traveling with a dog, choose a suite facing the park – it’s quieter there on New Year’s Eve. For family celebrations or groups of friends of up to 24 people, you can also rent the entire villa.
Is the Baltic Sea frozen over in Boltenhagen?
The Baltic Sea off Boltenhagen freezes over completely only during very harsh winters. More often, during prolonged periods of frost, ice floes and ice edges form along the shore—a unique photo opportunity. You can see for yourself if there’s ice on the beach by taking a short walk from our place: it’s just 100 steps to the beach.
