“A picture must resound and be imbued with an inner glow.” Wassily Kandinsky
Colors and shapes define the abstract works of the Russian painter Wassily Kandinsky (1866–1944) – revolutionary for the European avant-garde. Kandinsky believed that art should spring not from the surrounding nature but from the artist’s inner feelings, and that it should create “vibrations of the soul” in the viewer. He sought to convey a profound spirituality and the depth of human emotion through a universal visual language of abstract shapes and colors that transcended cultural and physical boundaries.
Cheerful, bright colors and modern furnishings define the “Kandinsky” suite. Inspiring works and an impressive, wall-sized landscape enrich the room with the expressive spirit of the artist. Large windows facing south and west let in plenty of light and air and open up a view across the colorful rhododendron garden. The bathroom, too, offers a special artistic treat in the form of exquisitely designed glass objects.
This turns your vacation into a feast for all the senses: a refreshing, vibrant composition of
colors, shapes, art and sea!
“Every work of art comes into being technically just as the cosmos came into being – through catastrophes which, out of the chaotic roar of the instruments, ultimately form a symphony called the music of the spheres. Creating a work is creating a world.” Wassily Kandinsky
